Article on the making of the above commercial. Allegedly: 606 takes. No computer graphics. Sweet.

  • I saw the ad the other week (rare that I'm watching tv at all, so it was sheer luck). Thats the first ad in a long time that's made me stop in my tracks and just watch in awe... very cool, I loved the walking windscreen wipers... :)
    Thanks for the links!
  • awesome! thanks for the links!
  • intense. I watched it twice in a row without stops. Bet this gets talked about oftern. I also found it interesting that the article didn't mention Rube Goldberg once. Anti Americanism, or just sheer didn't knowism?
    • Maybe they just never heard of the guy, or it isn't as much in common usage as in the US. As much as I think there's a dangerous level of anti-Americanism in Europe, I can't figure any way to see this in that light....
    • Strangely enough, there are places in the world where American catchphrases are not well-known. *snort* FWIW, I have no clue who Rube Goldberg is, either. I gather that he's an American, and has/had some association with excessively baroque and complicated mechanisms, but I know no more than that about him, and that much I figured out from context.
  • That's just splendid! I love stories of bullheadedly working to get an effect nobody else has the patience to do. :)
